Eat the light, 1994
£1,500.00
It was viewers’ responses to this piece that started my exploration of text as a means to orchestrate peoples’ physical reactions. The idea of using text was seeded by some Jasper Johns work I had seen recently, followed by some of Amikam Toren’s Armchair Paintings. The lighter letters were added later as a ‘hook’ to encourage casual viewers to commit to engaging with the more challenging to read de-spaced darker words.
