I am enormously proud to announce that my piece A Man’s World has won the BEST IN SHOW award at this year’s Erotic Art London exhibition at OXO Tower Wharf, on London’s South Bank.
I was genuinely surprised, as there was some phenomenally impressive work in the show to compete against.
I nearly didn’t submit this piece as it was an experimental one from back in 2014, and my work has moved on substantially since then. It is however a very important piece in my catalogue, as many of the techniques and processes that I use to this day found their genesis in this work.
It was the first time this, and many of the other works from The Heroes and Icons series have been publicly exhibited, and I was overwhelmed by fabulously positive reactions from the public, and other exhibitors.
I am also very grateful to the owner of Spanker, the yellow painting, based on a section of weathered shipping container, for allowing me to borrow it from his collection to show it again.
A glimpse of the winning piece, and other works I am exhibiting is included in the video below.
